Friends works with the Robinson Nature Center staff as an integral part of the team. The staffs of the Foundation and the Robinson Nature Center meet regularly with the Friends’ Steering Committee to identify ways in which Friends can support Center activities.
Our goal is to foster an environmentally active and aware community connected to the Robinson Nature Center. We are strongly committed to the goals of the Center. Our fundraising and membership programs reflect this commitment.
By using the talents and interests of our members, the Friends focuses on finding ways to raise funds for the Center. This work can take a variety of forms, including developing marketing programs and materials, assisting with children’s programs, hosting both small and large events, creating Friends programs and tracking membership and recruitment.
Well-informed volunteers are better able to contribute to the Robinson Nature Center. To that end, Friends hosts a monthly program for members called “Second Sunday.” Second Sundays include informal information sessions with the Robinson Nature Center staff and with other guest speakers that provide an understanding of our shared goals and programs.
